Abstract
Using the example of scientific workers of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the work examines the problems of interaction with compatriots permanently residing abroad and employed in the science - the scientific diaspora. Attention is focused on the insufficient availability of the existing legal framework for interaction with the scientific diaspora. Based on the data of the sociological research of scientific workers of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the following was revealed: the degree of awareness of scientists about the existence of the Belarusian scientific diaspora; the main existing and desired forms of interaction with compatriot scientists working abroad; obstacles in interaction with the Belarusian scientific diaspora. Based on the analysis of the legislation and the data of the conducted sociological research, proposals were formulated to improve the state migration policy in the scientific field: programs to support the international collaboration of scientists; creation of a national platform for interaction with compatriot scientists living and working abroad; adoption and practical implementation of the Regulation on Associated Research Fellows.
